Trainer Bus Stop Redemption

Shaan shares an amazing redemption story about his trainer overcoming dating nerves.

Shaan's trainer is "one of the best humans" he knows - super funny, always in a good mood, incredibly fit, "a catch." A year ago at the gym, the trainer saw a cute girl and made eye contact with her, but they were both in the middle of sets and far apart. He overthought it and didn't approach her, immediately regretting it. "I just I missed it," he told himself.

But he made a promise: "If I ever see that girl again, I'm going up to her."

A year later, he was walking across the street when he spotted the same girl at a bus stop. He literally ran across the street to her. His approach was perfect honesty: "Hey, gotta tell you this crazy story. I saw you at the gym like a year ago and at the time I was too nervous to come up and talk to you. I thought you were really cute but I fumbled the ball. I told myself if I ever see that girl again, I'm definitely gonna come up and talk to her."

She loved the honesty and vulnerability. They went on a date and it went great. As Shaan noted, he turned "the L into a big W" by using his previous failure as his opening line.
